Camp Purpose and Goals
A safe space for adoptees to meet new friends and form community with others "just like themselves" regardless of international or domestic adoption. Kids will celebrate shared experiences, bond over unique life challenges, and forge new opportunities for growth and development, together. Activities will be designed to foster connections and build lasting friendships.
Experience and Activities
This fun filled camp will include age appropriate activities designed to help foster a sense of identity, build positive self esteem, and facilitate conversations among children about their experiences of being adopted. Each day kids will have an opportunity to play outside in nature, make crafts, play games, and enjoy a snack.
Adoption specific programming will include components of the WISE UP program and the HearTalks program. We will also begin introducing the 7 Core Issues of Adoption, age appropriately.
